Bhubaneswar: With cyclonic circulation over Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam, Odisha may continue to experience thunder, lightning and rains till March 24.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued orange warning for 3 days for several districts, including Nuapada, Balangir, Koraput, Ganjam, Sundargarh, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Balasore, Bhadrak, Kendrapada and Jajpur. The day temperature is also likely to gradually fall by 2-3°C during this period, and thereafter again rise by 2-3°C, according to the Thursday’s midday bulletin.
People have been advised to keep watch on weather and take shelter during the thunderstorm activity to protect from lightning and follow traffic advisories in urban areas. “Also harvesting of crops may be regulated judicially and farmers are advised to use hail nets to protect vegetables and crops from hail,” it added.

ORANGE WARNING: thunderstorm accompanied by lightning and hail along with gusty surface wind speed reaching up to 50-60 kmph may occur at isolated places in the districts of Nuapada, Balangir, Kandhamal, Ganjam.
YELLOW WARNING: Thunderstorm accompanied by lightning and gusty surface wind speed reaching up to 30-40 kmph is also likely in the districts of Gajapati, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Rayagada and Malkangiri.
Light to moderate rain or thunderstorm may occur at one or two places in Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Sonepur, Boudh, Nuapada, Balangir, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Koraput
, Malkangiri, Angul, Dhenkanal, Boudh, Sundargarh, Mayurbhanj and Keonjhar districts.

March 22: Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Malkangiri, Koraput and Nabarangpur.
March 24-24: Mayurbhanj and Keonjhar.
