Bhubaneswar: Rain coupled with thundershower and lightning is likely to lash at least seven districts of Odisha on Saturday evening, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said in a nowcast warning.
In a message issued at 5.15 pm, the IMD sounded a yellow warning for Koraput, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Bargarh, Balangir, Deogarh and Angul districts.
Light to moderate rain, thundershower with lightning and wind speed reaching 40 kmph may affect these districts within next three hours.
People have been advised to keep a watch on the weather for worsening conditions and be prepared to move to safer places to protect themselves from lightning strikes.
