Rain, Yellow Warnings On Jan 11-14 In Odisha: Check IMD’s Latest Weather Bulletin

Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) and the regional meteorological centre here updated the rain forecast — and the accompanying ‘yellow’ warnings — it has issued for Odisha on January 11-14.

“A trough runs from induced cyclonic circulation over north Haryana to southeast Madhya Pradesh. Under its influence, thunderstorm with lightening along with light to moderate rainfall is very likely on January 10 in some districts of interior Odisha. Also, light to moderate rainfall is very likely at many places during January 11-14 over Odisha due to anticipated Western disturbance towards eastern India and strong moisture incursion from Bay of Bengal,” it said in a bulletin issued at 2.30 pm on Monday.

Jan 11 (valid till 8.30 am): Light to moderate rain or thundershower very likely at many places over the districts of north interior Odisha, at a few places over the districts of south interior Odisha and at one or two places over the districts of coastal Odisha.

Yellow warning: Thunderstorm with lightning very likely at one or two places over Nabarangpur, Nuapada, Bargarh, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj.

Jan 11 (8.30 am) to Jan 12 (8.30 am): Light to moderate rain or thundershower very likely at most places over the districts of north interior Odisha and at many places over the rest districts.

Yellow warning: Thunderstorm accompanied by hail very likely at one or two places over Bargarh, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Sonepur, Bolangir, Boudh, Kalahandi and Angul. Heavy rainfall very likely at one or two places over Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh and Sonepur.

Jan 12 (8.30 am) to Jan 13 (8.30 am): Light to moderate rain or thundershower very likely at many places over Odisha.

Yellow warning: Thunderstorm with lightning very likely at one or two places over Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Nawarangpur, Koraput and Malkangiri.

Jan 13 (8.30 am) to Jan 14 (8.30 am): Light to moderate rain or thundershower very likely at most places over the districts of interior Odisha and at many places over the districts of coastal Odisha.

Yellow warning: Thunderstorm accompanied by hail and heavy rainfall likely to occur at one or two places over Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Bolangir, Nuapada, Boudh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Cuttack, Nayagarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur and Kendrapada.

Jan 14 (8.30 am) to Jan 15 (8.30 am): Light to moderate rain or thundershower very likely to occur at many places over Odisha.

The office of the Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) on Monday issued an advisory for farmers.
