Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) and the regional meteorological centre here updated the rain forecast — and the accompanying ‘yellow’ warnings — it has issued for Odisha on January 11-14.

“A trough runs from induced cyclonic circulation over north Haryana to southeast Madhya Pradesh. Under its influence, thunderstorm with lightening along with light to moderate rainfall is very likely on January 10 in some districts of interior Odisha. Also, light to moderate rainfall is very likely at many places during January 11-14 over Odisha due to anticipated Western disturbance towards eastern India and strong moisture incursion from Bay of Bengal,” it said in a bulletin issued at 2.30 pm on Monday.

Jan 11 (valid till 8.30 am): Light to moderate rain or thundershower very likely at many places over the districts of north interior Odisha, at a few places over the districts of south interior Odisha and at one or two places over the districts of coastal Odisha.

Yellow warning: Thunderstorm with lightning very likely at one or two places over Nabarangpur, Nuapada, Bargarh, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj.
