Bhubaneswar: Rainfall intensity in Odisha may increase from Saturday under the influence of a fresh low pressure, which is likely to form over the north Bay of Bengal around August 13, the Bhubaneswar Meteorological Centre informed on Friday.
With the system expected to intensify further in the subsequent 24 hours, heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely to lash several districts of the state on Saturday (August 13) and Sunday (August 14). The Met Office has also issued orange warning for these two days, while yellow warning continues till 8.30 am on August 15.
Heavy to very heavy rainfall (7 to 20cm) is likely at isolated places in Ganjam, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Kendrapada, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Gajapati, Jajpur, Dhenkanal and Kalahandi on August 13. Isolated places in Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Kalahandi, Nuapada, Balangir, Kandhamal, Bargarh, Sonepur, Boudh, Sambalpur, Angul, Deogarh, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, and Cuttack are likely to experience heavy to very heavy rainfall (7 to 20cm), the following day.
