Bhubaneswar: While the pre-monsoon shower has occurred in most parts of Odisha under the influence of the approaching southwest monsoon, the India Meteorological Centre (IMD) has predicted heavy rain in coastal and southern districts in the next 48 hours.
According to an IMD release, a cyclonic circulation formed in the north-west-central of the Bay of Bengal, is most likely to intensify into a low pressure in the next 48 hours.
Under its influence, heavy rainfall would lash in some parts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Jagatsinghpur, Mayurbhanj, Balasore and Keonjhar districts in the next 24 hours.
Besides, the temperature in most parts of western Odisha which presently hovers around 40 degree Celsius, will come down further after June 8 due to the advance of the monsoon, the release added.
