Bhubaneswar: She came, she saw, she conquered and then she took some rest. The southwest monsoon had covered the entire state by Saturday, but there is no possibility of heavy rain in the next two days, the Regional Meteorological Centre said on Sunday.
Reports said that interior parts of the state, like Nabarangpur, Nuapada, Balangir, Phulbani, Malkangiri and Kalahandi will experience rainfall under the influence of a low pressure that is crossing Chhattisgarh. However, the intensity of rainfall will be relatively low.
“A low pressure formed over the north Bay of Bengal is moving towards north Chhattisgarh and adjoining areas. There is no forecast of heavy rainfall in the next two days. However, several interior parts of the state will experience rain today,” said L.D. Mohapatra, duty officer at the regional meteorological centre.
After two days, thunderstorm accompanied by rain is likely to occur at several places. “As there is no heating effect, chances of a Norwester rain are also minimal,” Mohapatra said.
Talcher recorded the highest rainfall of 22mm whereas other places experienced 10 to 12mm of rain on Saturday, the met department said.
