Mayurbhanj: The district administration rescued 47 students from Dudhiani Panchayat High School in Karanjia block late Tuesday night after rainwater entered the campus.
According to sources, as the water level of Deo river in the district started increasing, flood water entered the hostel and classrooms of the school.
Of 127 students studying in the school, 97 were staying in the hostel. About 50 hostel boarders had returned to their homes earlier.
As the school was waterlogged, the district administration rescued the students staying in the hostel and sheltered them in Hatibari ME School.
Earlier, people of three villages were displaced as flood water from Deo Irrigation Project (Medium) inundated the villages.
