Bhubaneswar: Keeping in mind the COVID-19 situation, the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Wednesday urged the denizens to finish their shopping for upcoming Raja festival before Friday evening to avoid the last-minute rush.
It has instead advised people to go for online shopping.
For festival shopping, people have been asked to choose the lean period and avoid crowded markets/shops.
“Everyone must strictly follow the physical distancing norms while going out for shopping/marketing and wear mask,” a notification issued by BMC said.
The shop owners have also been asked to strictly adhere to COVID-19 guidelines, including maintaining of social distancing norms.
Besides, people of Bhubaneswar have been requested to strictly follow the curfew from 7 pm to 5 am and guidelines issued by the Odisha government.
Strict action will be initiated against those violating the lockdown measures and government guidelines during this period, a BMC official said.
