Jaipur: Rajasthan Deputy Chief Minister Sachin Pilot was sacked by the Congress Party on Tuesday. Pilot has been relieved from the Rajasthan party chief’s post too.
While cracking the whip on the rebel leader, his loyalists Vishvendra Singh and Ramesh Meena have also been removed from the state cabinet.
Randeep Surjewala, AICC spokesperson, announced this soon after a Congress Legislature Party (CLP) meeting held here on Tuesday.
Govind Singh Dotasara, currently serving as the Education Minister, will be the new Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) chief, Surjewala said.
According to Surjewala, Pilot’s close proximity with party’s interim chief Sonia Gandhi had fetched him political power at a young age, but he squandered all trying to unsettle the state government being part of BJP conspiracy.
Soon after being sacked as the Deputy Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Sachin Pilot tweeted a one-liner, “Truth can be harassed, not defeated.”
