Hyderabad: After months of anticipation, the makers of Rajinikanth’s ‘Jailer 2’ have officially confirmed that the action entertainer will hit screens worldwide in October, setting the stage for one of the biggest releases of 2026.
Taking to social media, Sun Pictures announced, “Alappara Kelappurom! #Jailer2 storms into theatres worldwide on October 15 🔥 #Jailer2FromOct15”.
The makers announced the release date with a stylish action-packed teaser that keeps the story a secret.
Without revealing much about the plot, the teaser features intense visuals and gives fans a glimpse of the film’s star-studded cast.
The teaser also hints at the return of Rajinikanth’s iconic character, Tiger Muthuvel Pandian.
Without fully revealing his face, it shows him walking towards a dangerous new mission, suggesting that he will face an even bigger challenge in ‘Jailer 2’.

Directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, ‘Jailer 2’ is the sequel to the 2023 blockbuster ‘Jailer’, which earned over Rs 604.50 crore worldwide and emerged as one of the biggest Tamil hits of the year, raising expectations for the sequel.
The cast also includes Kannada actor Shiva Rajkumar, Malayalam star Mohanlal, S.J. Suryah, Mithun Chakraborty, Yogi Babu, Ramya Krishnan and Mirnaa Menon.
Bollywood actress Vidya Balan will be making her Tamil cinema debut with ‘Jailer 2’.
Another surprise surrounding the film is Hrithik Roshan’s cameo appearance.
“Hrithik is definitely doing a strong cameo in Jailer 2. He plays the role of Rajini sir’s friend who comes into the storyline to help in time of crises,” a source was quoted as saying by HT.
