New Delhi: Those who are determined to avoid buying Chinese rakhis for the upcoming Raksha Bandhan festival, there will be locally-made options like the ‘Modi rakhi’.
The Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT), which has taken a strong stand against Chinese-manufactured products, has called for celebrating Raksha Bandhan on August 3 by using ‘Hindustani Rakhi’.
With PM Narendra Modi promoting the Atma Nirbhar Bharat Abhiyan and calling for promoting local products, CAIT has introduced the ‘Modi Rakhi’ this year, which is in huge demand from traders.
The demand for Chinese rakhis has fallen this year following the ongoing border tensions and widespread calls to boycott Chinese goods across India.
