Mumbai: Actress Rakul Preet Singh, one of the names mentioned by Rhea Chakraborty during the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) interrogation, has moved Delhi High Court to stop the media trial against her.
According to an India Today report, Rakul Preet in her petition before the HC has stated that the media is running a negative trial against her after her name allegedly cropped up in the drug nexus case.
Following Rakul’s plea, the Court issued a notice to the Central Government, Prasar Bharti, Press Council of India, National Broadcaster Association and the Information and Broadcast Ministry, directing them to practice restraint.
“Media gets to know information even before the officers themselves. Reputations are getting tarnished,” Justice Naveen Chawla was quoted as saying by India Today.
In her petition, Rakul stated that she was on a shoot when Rhea named her for doing drugs during the NCB probe.
