Mumbai: Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone’s ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’ had a grand re-release in theatres on December 3.
As per reports, the film sold around 26,000 tickets in national cinema chains including PVR INOX and Cinepolis, thereby registering the biggest opening for a Bollywood re-release.
Directed by Ayan Mukerji, the film also features Kalki Koechlin and Aditya Roy Kapur.
‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’ was initially released on May 31, 2013.
The film’s chartbuster music and good pre-release buzz helped it get off to a superb start at the Indian box office, with an opening day collection of Rs 19.45 crore net.
‘Tumbbad’, with a collection of 1.65 crore, holds the record for the biggest grosser among Bollywood re-releases. However, the enthusiasm of fans and movie buffs for ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’ suggests that this figure could be surpassed soon.
