New Delhi: According to a report, Ranbir Kapoor, who is set to play Lord Ram in Nitish Tiwari’s Ramayan will forego meat and alcohol to be ‘as pure as Ram’ in the film. It is also claimed that the cast is being ‘tutored into a self-restrained lifestyle’. Although there is no confirmation about the cast, it is rumoured that Ranbir will share the screen with South Indian actress Sai Pallavi, who is said to play Sita in the film. It is also claimed that KGF star Yash is playing Raavan in the movie.

A source told KoiMoi that Ranbir is not avoiding alcohol and meat for public image but to do justice to the role of Lord Ram. “While the film will be shot, Ranbir will abstain completely from drinking and eating meat. These are not things he would avoid just for his public image, but also as a dedicated actor Ranbir wants to feel as pure and clean as Sri Rama. In any case, Ranbir is not into late nights and wild parties,” the source claimed.

Earlier, Pinkvilla reported that Ranbir and co will begin filming early next year. “Ranbir and Sai will start shooting for the film around the month of February 2024. The first part of the trilogy will focus more on Lord Ram and Sita, leading towards the conflict of Sita Haran. The duo will be shooting for the film from February till August 2024, before calling it a wrap for Ramayana: Part One,” the source claimed. It has also been reported that the VFX plates are prepared by the Oscar Winning Company, DNEG.

Meanwhile, Ranbir is preparing for the release of his upcoming film Animal. Directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, Ranbir will be seen sharing the screen with Anil Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna and Bobby Deol. The film is set to release on December 1.
