Ranbir Kapoor, Yash’s ‘Ramayana’ Set For Grand Premiere At Academy Museum

Mumbai: Ranbir Kapoor and Yash’s much-anticipated film ‘Ramayana’ is set for its world premiere at the David Geffen Theatre inside the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures in Los Angeles on October 27, with guests reportedly requested to wear traditional Indian attire for the occasion.

Coinciding with Diwali, the premiere will bring an Indian festive touch to the international event, as the makers prepare to showcase their ambitious mythological epic to a global audience.

The Academy Museum, which celebrates the history, art and science of filmmaking, has hosted several high-profile industry events and Oscar-related celebrations over the years.

The premiere is expected to welcome 945 guests, including Hollywood personalities, filmmakers, international media representatives and prominent figures from the film industry.

The film will be screened in 3D.

Helmed by Nitesh Tiwari, ‘Ramayana’ is produced by Namit Malhotra’s Prime Focus Studios alongside DNEG and Yash’s Monster Mind Creations.

Conceived as a two-part cinematic saga, the first film is set to hit theatres worldwide on November 5, 2026, followed by the second instalment during Diwali 2027.

The epic will be released in five languages — Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam — and will also be available in IMAX.

Sony Pictures will oversee global distribution outside India, while Dharma Productions will handle its release in the Hindi-speaking market.
