Jajpur: The guesthouse, ‘Rangasala’, where village level worker (VLW) and in-charge panchayat executive officer (PEO) of Haridaspur Smitarani Biswal was found hanging last week, will soon be razed to the ground.
Jajpur Collector Ranjan Das on Thursday said that the allegation that it was raised on government land was found to be true following a probe. “The Tehsildar and Additional Tehsildar went for a spot verification and found that the guesthouse was constructed on a patch of government land. The eviction order has been already issued,” he said.
Rupesh Bhadra, who has been arrested on charges of abetting the suicide of the PEO, owns the guesthouse. He is the husband of Haridaspur sarpanch Madhusmita Bhadra
Since police investigation into the PEO death is on, suggestions has been sought on demolition of the guesthouse, where her body was found, from the Jajpur SP, the Collector said. He further informed that Sec 144 would be clamped around the guesthouse.
