Ranchi: A blistering half century by Suryakant Pradhan helped Odisha take first innings lead over Jharkhand on the second day of the four-day Ranji Trophy match at the JSCA International Stadium Complex here on Friday.
Resuming their overnight score at 27-3, Odisha lost early wicket of captain Biplab Samantray (23) with the score at 57. However, Anurag Sarangi (58) and Abhishek Raut took the score to 118. After Raut got out at 37, Sujit Lenka could not stay long as he fell cheaply at 5.
But Suryakanta Pradhan stunned the hosts as he slammed a blistering 54 from 41 balls to ensure a vital first innings lead of 29 runs.
At close, Jharkhand were 101 for 3 in their second innings with a lead of 72 runs.
