Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s opening match of the 2024-25 Ranji Trophy season turned out to be a damp squib.
Having travelled to Agartala to play against Tripura, Odisha literally ran into some rough weather, which ruled out any play at all.
The umpires had to call off play on all four days (October 11 to 14) at Maharaja Bir Bikram College Stadium – either because of rain or a wet outfield.
Odisha and Tripura, who are in Elite Group A, earned a point each.
Odisha will next face Jammu & Kashmir at Cuttack’s Barabati Stadium, from October 18 to 21.
The other teams Odisha will come up against are Services, Baroda, Maharashtra, Mumbai and Meghalaya.
