Ranji Trophy: Rajasthan Beat Odisha By 35 Runs

Bhubaneswar: Odisha suffered third consecutive defeat in Ranji Trophy after the team was bundled out for 137 in the third day of the four-day match against Rajasthan at Vikash Cricket Ground here on Sunday.

Resuming their overnight score of 6 for 2, Odisha lost the wickets of Shantanu Mishra (5), Debasis Samantray (21), Abhishek Raut (8) and captain Biplab Samantray (0) in quick succession.

Though Subhranshu Senapati (36) and Suryakant Pradhan (56) steadied the innings and took the score to 122, the remaining batsmen could not stay for long as Odisha were bundled out for 137.

For Rajasthan, A.V. Chaudhary bagged five wickets while T.M. Haq and Nathu Singh claimed three and two wickets respectively.

Basant Mohanty was adjudged the Man of the Match for claiming 11 wickets in the match.

With this win, Rajasthan bagged six points.

This was the third defeat of Odisha in the Ranji Trophy match this year.

Prior to this, Odisha had lost the match to Jharkhand and Uttar Pradesh and won those against Tripura and Assam.

Brief Score: Rajasthan 135 (1st innings) and 148 (2nd innings), Odisha 111 (1st innings) and 137 (2nd innings).
