Jaipur: Ranji Trophy-winning cricketer Vivek Yadav lost his battle with COVID-19. He had been admitted in a city hospital for the past five days.
Vivek, a leg spinner, was part of Rajasthan team’s squads which lifted the prestigious Ranji Trophy in 2010 and 2011. In the 2010 final, he bagged four wickets.
Vivek played 18 first-class matches in which he claimed 57 wickets. He was part of the Delhi Daredevils squad in the 2011 IPL.
The cricket fraternity mourned the untimely demise of the 36-year-old Vivek.
“Rajasthan Ranji Player and a dear friend… Vivek Yadav is no more. May his soul R.I.P. Thoughts and prayers with the family,” tweeted former India opener Aakash Chopra.
