Cuttack: Ranjit Patnaik, eminent Odia screenplay and dialogue writer, passed away at his residence in Odisha’s Cuttack on Wednesday. He was 65.
Patnaik was suffering from liver cirrhosis and died due to liver failure, according to media reports.
Among the Odia movies for which Patnaik, who started his career in 1999, wrote the screenplay are Sundargarh Ra Salman Khan, Premare Premare, Mu Eka Tumara, Ashok Samrat, Paribeni Kehi Alaga Kari, Parshuram, Matric Fail, Raja Jhia Sathe Heigala Bhaba, Something Something, Samay Kheluchhi Chaka Bhaunri and Rakata Chinhichhi Nijara Kie.
He also wrote several Odia TV serials and plays.
