Ranveer Allahbadia’s ‘Crass’ Question On India’s Got Latent Was Copied From This Show!

Mumbai: From Rakhi Sawant throwing a chair on stage or a comedian taking a dig at Deepika Padukone’s battle with depression, the Samay Raina hosted talent show ‘India’s Got Latent’ has been creating controversy with every new episode.

Currently, the roast show has landed in soup because of the crass ‘sex’ remarks made by YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia, who had joined the judges panel for a bonus episode recently.

“Would you rather watch your parents have sex every day for the rest of your life or join in once to make it stop forever?” Ranveer asked a contestant.

The question caught Samaya off guard, prompting him to react with surprise, saying “What the f***?”

As the clip went viral, Allahbadia faced massive backlash with police complaints being filed against him, Samay and Apoorva Makhija.

Amid all the hullabaloo, the netizens later realised that the ‘sex with parents’ question, for which Ranveer is being slammed, was actually copied line-by-line from an Australian YouTube show, OG Crew Truth or Drink, hosted by Sammy Walsh.

“Ranveer Allahbadia was aware of what he was going to say- it was a well prepared skit copied from an English show! It was not an accident or a slip of tongue! Don’t accept his apology because it was not a mistake! Watch!” fumed one user while sharing a clip of the Australian show on X.

Another user noted, “Wat ever, if it is original or copied. Hello should have thought n had some brains before asking such questions.”

Another pointed out, “He came with research thinking it’s like any other podcast but actually messed up bad !!”

Another netizen wrote, “Jo hua galat hua. He should be jailed for atleast a few days/weeks and the show “India’s Got Latent” should be given strict warning or ban for weeks/months.”

Meanwhile, the National Commission for Women has summoned YouTuber Allahbadia, Samay Raina and others over derogatory remarks. The hearing has been scheduled for February 17. The episode of show on YouTube, featuring the crass comments by Allahbadia, has also been blocked following orders from the government.

As his remarks led to a nation-wide outrage with even politicians cutting across party line denouncing him, Allahbadia on Monday afternoon took to his official Instagram handle to apologise, and wrote, “I shouldn’t have said what I said on India’s got latent. I’m sorry.”
