Cuttack: A rape accused was arrested from Dargha Bazar area of Cuttack 23 years after he committed the crime.
Reports said Yakub Khan (46) had abducted and raped a minor girl while staying in Kendrapara in 1996. The girl’s family had lodged a complaint in this regard with the police.
Soon after the incident, Yakub fled from the area. A warrant was issued against but Kendrapara police had failed to nab him.
Acting on a tip-off, Dargha Bazar police raided his house and apprehended him.
