Nayagarh: An undertrial prisoner (UTP) of Khandapada sub-jail in Nayagarh district gave the jail authorities a slip for the third on Friday.
The UTP, identified as Tapan Rout, jumped off the van while being taken to a local court for trial. He was arrested from Fategarh in the district and lodged in the jail for allegedly raping a minor girl.
The police have launched a manhunt to nab him.
On August 3, Rout had escaped from the sub-jail by climbing the boundary wall. He was nabbed two days later.
Prior to that the UTP had escaped from the jail on June 10. The jail superintendent had then suspended sub-jail warder Kishore Kumar Sahoo.
