Rare Turtle Rescued During Highway Construction In Odisha

Kalahandi: Workers engaged in the construction of the Biju Express Highway in Dharmagarh block stumbled upon a turtle weighing 42 k on Saturday .

Forest officials, who later reached the spot and rescued the turtle, described it to be of a rare variety, news agency ANI said.

Odisha is home to 90 per cent of India’s turtle population and the news of the rescue of this turtle has been received with joy by wildlife enthusiasts.
