Ratan Tata Plays Down ICU Admission ‘Rumours’, Confirms Routine Health Check-Up

Mumbai: Dismissing news reports that he was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai at around 12:30-1:00 am, 86-year-old former chairperson of Tata Sons, Ratan Tata, on Monday said he went to the hospital for routine medical check-up. 

“I am aware of recent rumors circulating regarding my health and want to assure everyone that these claims are unfounded. I am currently undergoing medical check-ups due to my age and related medical conditions,” Tata said in a statement on Instagram.  

 

“There is no cause for concern. I remain in good spirits and request that the public and media respect refrain from spreading misinformation,” he added. 

Earlier, news reports based on hospital sources said that Tata was taken to the hospital due to a sharp drop in blood pressure.
