Puri: The Odisha government on Tuesday relaxed the curfew imposed in entire Puri district for Rath Yatra.
Talking to mediapersons, Puri Collector Balwant Singh said barring some areas in Puri town, the curfew will be revoked in the remaining district from 7 pm. “We will come up with a notification to this effect by the evening,” he added.
The collector said that the administration has decided to continue with the shutdown along the stretch from Badasankha to Matiapada bus stand in the Pilgrim Town.
Notably, the administration had imposed a curfew from 9 pm on Monday to 2 pm on Tuesday to stop the entry of people and vehicles into the district during the mega festival in accordance with the Supreme Court’s directive.
