Puri: The prospect of Rath Yatra in Puri has brightened with Shri Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) on Tuesday giving the letter of consent to the temple sevayats for draping the chariots of the sibling deities.
Talking to mediapersons, senior sevayat Siddheswar Mahapatra said that preparations for Rath Yatra are on in adverse circumstances amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
“The preparations are going on smoothly by the grace of Lord Jagannath and let us hope that we will be able to hold the Rath Yatra successfully with His blessings,” Mahapatra added.
While the construction of the chariots is in the final stage, the draping of the chariots will be taken up soon. The chariots will be decked at the Simhadwara of the temple on June 22 a day before the annual festival.
