Bhubaneswar/Puri: Health authorities have ordered ramping up COVID-19 vaccination in Puri ahead of Rath Yatra as a precautionary measure.
“In view of possible congregation of devotees in large numbers in Puri for Rath Jatra, the Health department has decided to scale up COVID vaccination in Puri,” informed Public Health Director Niranjan Mishra on Wednesday.
The Puri district administration has been directed to hold special camps to administer COVID vaccines to beneficiaries who have not been vaccinated with the second dose or precaution dose.
The state reported 45 COVID cases on Wednesday, including 3 in the 0-18 age group. While 27 cases are from quarantine, 18 are from local contact.
