Puri: The Nandighosa chariot of Lord Jagannath, which had stopped near the Balagandi Chhak on Saturday after the sunset, was pulled on Sunday by the devotees and the policemen amid intermittent rain.
The pulling of the chariot began at around 9.15 am after the Daitapati servitors performed Mangala Alati and Abakasha rituals of the Lord.
As scheduled, the deities would be taken on Pahandi to the sanctum sanctorum of the Gundicha Temple on Monday.
The Pahandi rituals would begin after servitors put up Charamala (ladder made of palm wood) to the chariots.
Braving heavy rain, the devotees had darshan of the three deities at Saradhabali all through the night on Saturday.
