Bhubaneswar: Ration card holders of Odisha staying outside the state can avail the PDS items from the dealers in their respective places through e-KYC, said Krushna Chandra Patra, Minister of Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare.
Speaking to media on Sunday, the Minister the government has made the process of distribution of PDS items very transparent. “Since the Central government has already implemented one card one nation policy, the people from any state can avail their essential supply from PDS dealers by submitting the e-KYC,” he said.
Stating that the state government was aware of Odias, particularly labourers, going outside the state in search of livelihood, he said in order to solve their problems of availing the PDS items, the new system has been adopted.
“A ration card holder of Odisha staying in another state can approach his nearest PDS dealer and fill up the e-KYC. After his identity is verified, he can get the PDS items from the same dealer,” the minister said.
