Bhubaneswar: With confusion prevailing over opening of Ratna Bhandar of Jagannath Temple in Puri, the Odisha government on Monday made it clear that the treasury will be opened soon.
Giving this information, Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan told media that necessary steps are being taken by the government for the opening of Ratna Bhandar of the 12th century shrine in the pilgrim town.
“The process is underway and Ratna Bhandar will be opened soon,” the Minister said, adding that modalities are being worked out to decide as to when and how the Ratha Bhandar will be opened.
Stating that the state government is keen to get the treasury opened for necessary inspection, he said preparations are going on at the moment.
A decision on the exact date and time of opening of the treasury will be taken very soon, Harichandan said.
While the condition of the inner chambers of the Ratna Bhandar will be thoroughly examined, inventory of the precious jewellery will also be conducted, he said.
Harichandan, who also holds Works and Excise besides Law, said his priority is to help the three departments serve the people of the state efficiently. “Special strategies are being chalked out for works to be done in the next 100 days and then within one year as well as next five years,” the Minister said.
Harichandan is slated to review the Bhubanswar Court Complex works on Monday afternoon with the officers of the Works Department.
“Steps have been taken to complete the work and inaugurate the new Court Complex in Bhubaneswar in the first week of August,” he said.
