Cuttack: The 1969-batch alumni of the Ravenshaw Collegiate School took a trip down memory lane when they met at their alma mater in the Millennium City with their family on December 22 to celebrate the golden jubilee function.
In the function, which was presided over by the Captain Chitta Mohanty at the Netaji Auditorium, the alumni reminisced their halcyon days at the school.
While Soura Mohan Udgata gave the welcome address, chief guest Justice Manoranjan Mohanty, president of the Alumni Association Dr Pradip Rao, guest of honour and headmistress of the school Dr Anusmita Swain thanked the alumni for their true love and unstinting support to their alma mater and one of the premier institutions of Odisha.
The alumni later observed silent prayer for the departed souls of their mates.
The alumni were greeted with a welcome song and Odissi dance by the children of Saraswati Sishu Mandir.
As a mark of gratitude and profound respect, the alumni felicitated their teachers Premanand Tripathy, Gopinath Mishra. They also facilitated the guests and other teachers.
The alumni members praised the untiring efforts of Dillip Nayak and the cooperation by the other members Bibhu Prasad Tripathy, Pradipta Mohanty, Sudhakar Swain, Madhu Pati, Sukanta Sarangi, Samir Mitra and Siba Rao in making the event a rousing success.
