Ravenshaw assault case: Accused moves HC for anticipatory bail

Cuttack: Apprehending arrest, one of the accused in the Ravenshaw University assault case on Friday moved the Orissa High Court seeking anticipatory bail.
On Tuesday, Commissionerate Police had arrested a Plus III second year student in connection with the incident.
A former student of the Ravenshaw Junior College, who had come to check the merit list for admission to Plus III courses, was dragged by some senior students and thrashed near Lalitgiri Hostel inside the varsity campus on Monday. The matter came to the light after video of the assault went viral. The victim also lodged a complaint at Malgodown police station regarding the incident the same day.
The police identified the accused through the footage of CCTV cameras installed at the hostel.
