Cuttack: Malgodown police have begun an investigation into the death of a student of Ravenshaw University who died after falling off the roof the hostel late on Wednesday.
The deceased has been identified as Kushdhar Bag of Balangir district.
According to reports, the deceased was staying at the New Hostel and pursuing his PhD in Political Science.
As told by some students, he had gone to the roof of the hostel in the night.
Police have registered a case of unnatural death and begun an investigation into the case.
The postmortem of the deceased would be conducted at the SCB Medical College and Hospital here on Thursday.
Meanwhile, police have informed the family members of the deceased about the incident.
