Cuttack: Police have been able to locate the truck involved in Raveshaw University student hit-and-run case, informed Cuttack DCP Akhileshwar Singh on Friday.
While the truck has been seized, the driver is still absconding.
The DCP further said that disciplinary action will be initiated against the cops, who allowed the vehicle to enter the city during the restricted hours.
The ACP rank traffic cop, who is conducting an inquiry into the incident, have been asked to submit the probe report by this evening, he added, hinting at dereliction of duty by three traffic personnel posted at the spot.
Notably, Annapurna Choudhary, a Plus III student of Economics department, was killed after being hit by a speeding truck in front of the campus while she was riding a scooty home at Choudwar after attending Teacher’s Day celebration on Thursday.
Following the accident, the varsity students staged a road blockade and a dharna in front of the varsity gate demanding compensation for the bereaved family and proper implementation of traffic rules.
Vice-Chancellor Ishan Kumar Patro had also met the DCP, requesting him for immediate action in the case.
