Cuttack: Ravenshaw University authorities on Wednesday said they have received a complaint of ragging by a first year student against seniors inside a hostel.
According to the complaint, the incident occurred when the Plus III student was celebrating his birthday with his friends inside the hostel on Tuesday night. A group of students from the second and third years had an altercation with him and then thrashed him.
The university’s anti-ragging committee will discuss the issue at a meeting later in the day, the authorities said.
