Rayagada: Amid the continuing rise in COVID-19 cases, the district administration has suspended all public transport services to Ganjam, Cuttack and Bhubaneswar on Thursday.
The administration urged people of the district to cooperate. Any person visiting Rayagada from Ganjam district would need prior approval of Sub Divisional Magistrates of Gunupur/Rayagada.
Persons found violating norms endangering public health will be put into institutional quarantine in Rayagada for a minimum of seven days (with food in own cost).
Tehsildars, as Incident Commanders, will ensure it by getting information from COVID Management Committee or from any other sources.
Even for emergency travel, government officials, including contractual employees in Rayagada district, also need prior permission from the Rayagada Collector processed through PD, DRDA-cum-COVID Nodal Officer via e-mail only.
Earlier, the Ganjam district collector Vijay Amruta Kulange ordered the sealing of Ganjam-Khurda border to prevent movement of persons between the districts.
