Gunupur: The Rayagada Aditional District and Sessions Judge Court here has acquitted Maoist leader Sabyasachi Panda in two cases for lack of evidence.
The two cases pertains to loot of paddy crops from a person’s farmland at Dimiriguda village in 2001 and abduction of a Works Department’s Junior Engineer in 2004.
After pronouncing its judgment on Tuesday, the court directed Sabyasachi to depose before it again on March 18 and 19 for hearing on other cases against him.
On February 4, the Supreme Court had rejected his bail plea in Nayagarh police station attack case.
