Rayagada Gets Replacement For Flood-Washed Bridge In Record Time

Bhubaneswar: Senior-most trackman of the Section waved the green flag to the first engine rolling on the newly-constructed bridge No 588 between Theruvali – Singapur Road of Sambalpur Division in presence of Sambalpur DRM and Chief Engineer/Construction/ECoR.

The earlier bridge was completely washed away in floods last year.This new bridge was constructed in record time of 200 days.

Due to heavy rain causing flood situation in Rayagada district, Railway Bridge Number 585 between Theruvali and Singapur Road Railway Stations in Titilagarh-Rayagada Railway Section washed away on July 17.

Alert Gangman stopped the approaching goods train, which was supposed to pass on this bridge, and averted an accident.
