Rayagada Man Gets Life For Killing Wife

Rayagada: The court of Additional District Judge (ADJ) in Rayagada district has sentenced a man to life imprisonment for killing in wife over dowry demands in May 2016.

The Gunupur Additional District Judge (ADJ) convicted Krushna Chandra and imposed a fine of Rs 20,000 on him.

Krushna murdered his wife Anita for dowry on May 4, 2016. At the time of their marriage in 2012, Anita’s father had given some gold ornaments and Rs 5 lakh as dowry. But, after a few years, Krushna demanded more dowry from Anita and also tortured her.

Later, she was found dead under mysterious circumstances in her in-law’s house, following which, Anita’s father lodged a complaint with police.

Based on the complaint, police had started investigation into the matter and found evidence against Krushna. He was then arrested and sent to jail.
