Puri: Governor of Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Shaktikanta Das along with his wife offered prayers to the sibling deities during their visit to Shree Jagannath Temple in Odisha’s Puri on Monday.
The couple was greeted by officials of the temple, district administration, and servitors and escorted into the 12th century shrine by the temple security personnel.
After having darshan at the sanctum sanctorum, he paid a visit to the shrines of Goddesses Mahalakhsmi and Bimala on the temple premises, said sources.
Das also interacted with journalists lined outside the temple complex. “Last time I had visited Puri three years back in 2021. Though Lord Jagannath, Devi Subhadra and Lord Balabhadra are always in our prayers, it is a divine privilege to have Their darshan in person,” he said.
Das prayed to the Lords for prosperity of India, people of the country and its economy. “May Lord Jagannath bless us all and our country,” he added.
