Cuttack: The steps to expedite the process for setting up a COVID-19 facility in the existing New Medicine Block of SCB Medical College and Hospital here were discussed at an emergency review meeting here on Monday.
The meeting held under the chairmanship of Revenue Divisional Commissioner (RDC) Central Division, Anil Kumar Samal was attended by Cuttack Collector Bhabani Shankar Chayani and Cuttack Municipal Corporation Commissioner Ananya Das.
Besides the relocation of patients from the New Medicine Block, the meeting decided to integrate new COVID Hospital and the already existing isolation ward. It was also decided that a Counsellor would be appointed for the new COVID Hospital from the Department of Psychology.
The RDC also asked the officials to expedite construction and repair work of the Regional Spinal Injury Centre (RSIC) and the barricading and construction of the Tetanus and Diarrhea ward.
He directed them to coordinate with officials of Electricity, Drinking Water and Public Health and complete the necessary works within a stipulated time frame.
Store medical officials were also told to take steps to purchase medicines and equipment at the earliest.
