Thiruvananthapuram: Seven-time former MLA PC George’s arrest on the basis of a sexual assault complaint filed in the solar panel case has enraged the senior politician and his family.
The woman alleged in her complaint that George invited her to the guest house on February and sexually assaulted her. She also stated that she continued to receive inappropriate messages from the politician post the incident.
George, who was taken into custody by the Cantonment police from a guest house here where he was being questioned by the Crime Branch in connection with allegations levelled by gold-smuggling case accused Swapna Suresh, lashed out at Kerala chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan soon after being granted bail by a magistrate court on Saturday, within hours of his arrest.
He alleged that he is being targeted by the Kerala CM and his arrest is part of a conspiracy orchestrated by Vijayan.
On Sunday, his wife Usha George upped the ante further, saying that the CM was behind her husband’s arrest and she was ready to kill Vijayan.
“It’s a fake case. Kerala CM is torturing my husband and family. My husband is innocent. He exposed Kerala CM’s corruption, so the police arrested him. I’m ready to shoot the CM with my father’s revolver,” Usha told reporters.
Two months ago, George was arrested for an alleged hate speech against Muslims on April 29 before being granted bail.
He was taken into police custody for allegedly delivering a communal speech while addressing the ‘Ananthapuri Hindu Maha Sammelanam’ on April 29.
