Bhubaneswar: Twin City Commissioner of Police, Satyajit Mohanty here on Friday felicitated a boy for his act of bravery.
The boy, Subrat Ojha, fought two motorcycle-borne miscreants who snatched a gold chain from his mother’s neck while they were travelling in an auto in Mansheswar area of the city. Subrat chased the duo. As the they fell from the motorcycle, locals thrashed them and later handed them over to the police. The entire episode was captured on CCTV cameras.
The incident took place on August 14, a day before Independence Day.
Taking to its official Twitter handle, the Commissionerate Police wrote: ‘It is my pleasure to convey my deep appreciation for your courageous efforts in chasing and apprehending two bike borne criminals. Your act of valour is praiseworthy and makes you a role model.’
