Kendrapara: A day before counting of votes of the panchayat elections in Odisha, ballot papers were found scattered outside the strong room on the Kendrapara college premises on Friday.
Kendrapara Sub-Collector Niranjan Behera, however, said all ballot boxes were safe and secure in the strong room. “The ones found outside are dummy ballot papers,” he said following an inspection.
According to reports, ballot boxes of 27 panchayats in Kendrapara block are kept in the strong room.
Behera, BDO Bandana Khatua and other officials went to the spot for inspection.
