Rourkela: Mo Bus service handled highest number of passengers in Rourkela of Odisha’s Sundargarh district on Monday.
A press release of Capital Region Urban Transport (CRUT), which runs the Mo Bus in the city, stated that total 46,688 passengers travelled in its buses on the day. It was highest in Rourkela so far. The CRUT has been operating buses un Sundargarh Urban Transport Area (SUTA) for the last one year.
Following overwhelming support from the passengers in the Capital Region of Odisha, CRUT expanded Mo Bus service to Rourkela in January, 2023. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik had inaugurated the Mo Bus service to provide sustainable, comfortable and economically viable mode of transport for people of Rourkela.
“For the past one year, CRUT has provided Mo Bus service in Sundargarh area, making significant impact on people’ daily mobility and improving the way of public transport in SUTA. On an average, 36,500 people avail Mo Bus service in SUTA. We will continue to provide hassle-free commuting experience,” said Sanjay Biswal, general manager, Operation & Maintenance, CRUT.
Currently, CRUT has a fleet of 100 buses including 70 AC and 30 non-AC in Rourkela and its nearby areas.
