Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Police has made a record seizure of more than 1292 quintal of ganja till November 30 this year.
In a press release, the Odisha Police claimed that this is double the seizure made in any year during t
he last 10 years in the state. Koraput district reported maximum seizure of 528 quintal of cannabis during the period this year.
Besides, police seized very high quantity of the contraband in Malkangiri and Gajapati districts. Police released the year-wise seizure of ganja for the last 10 years.
Considering that cultivation and trafficking of ganja posed a serious challenge, Odisha Police launched special drive and made special efforts to curb the menace.
