Red Terror: 10 Families Flee Village In Kalahandi

Bhawanipatna: Maoist menace has reportedly forced more than 10 families to flee homes in Trilochanpur village under Lanjigarh block in Kalahandi district on Saturday.

According to sources, the ultras had been torturing the locals for quite a long time. This compelled the villagers to vacate their homes and take shelter in neighbouring villages.
“We are trying to instill a sense of security among the villagers and bring them back to the village,” a senior police officer said.
On April 20, at least four persons, including a village guard, were abducted by a group of armed Maoists from Lakhpadar village in the district.
A super-class contractor, identified as Shivshankar Das, was also shot dead by red rebels while he was taking rest at a temporary camp built near a construction site in Bajibahali village of the district on February 16.
