Red Zone: Sec 144 Clamped At Hingula Temple In Odisha’s Angul

Angul: To contain the spread of COVID-19, the Angul administration clamped Section 144 at Hingula temple in Gopalprasad village of Talcher on Monday.

The restrictions are being imposed to prevent any congregation during the Hingula Yatra that could lead to potential widespread dispersal of infections.

The devotees are barred from gathering on the temple premises. Vendors cannot put up stalls and cultural functions will not also be allowed this year.

Only rituals will be performed by the servitors and the temple association in strict adherence to COVID-19 guidelines, sources said.

Notably, Angul reported 187 new cases in the last 24 hours. The district has slipped into the red zone with 1,126 active cases.
